We caught up with Scandi designer & illustrator Heidi Stanhope at ‘From A To You’, (a premium gift brand offering bespoke, personalised handcrafted items) about her favourite local hangouts in Beaconsfield.
RUSTIC DINING – BRASSERIE BLANC
This is one of my favourite places for date night as well as dinner with the girls, but it’s really great for brunch/lunch as well. They’ve got a great set lunch menu, that’s currently £12 for two courses – and my kids absolutely love the kids menu (the mac & cheese is by far the best I’ve ever tasted). The decor is fab (the tiles!!!) and when the sun’s popping out you can sit outside, away from cars and the high street rush.
Getting the kids out at the weekend can sometimes be a challenge, but with this Spy Mission themed Treasure Trail it shouldn’t be too hard. The trail starts near St Mary’s church, and as you follow the trail you need to solve the clues on the buildings and monuments to crack the code, and complete the mission.
Whenever I need a present (or a little treat for myself), I always end up popping into MIRA because they have so many gorgeous bits for the house, jewellery and little bags. A lot of their items are unique from small companies, and you can easily find a gorgeous present for a tenner.
I always have my hair done at Oxygen in Beaconsfield, where they have a team of fantastic hairdressers. But I do tend to forget that they have a really lovely spa section at the back, where they do a variety of treatments including facials, full body massage, mani/pedi, waxing, etc. Their facials and massages rivals the best spas around, and I personally love that they use Aveda, a cruelty-free brand. And make sure you have a look at their website for offers at the spa.
A QUICK TRIP TO THE CONTINENT – BENEDICT’S
Stepping into this shop, you might be forgiven for thinking you’ve stepped into a different country. It’s not the biggest place, but perfect for a catch-up with a friend or two. Their sandwiches are so good (the bread!) and their drinks are equally delicious, they even serve the “real” Italian hot chocolate.
But do not attempt to sit on your phones, ignoring each other – and definitely do not ask for a wi-fi code. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, or coffee ;-P but I personally think they’ve got the best coffee for miles, and lets me pretend I’m miles away for half an hour.

If you fancy a night out at a London restaurant, but can’t be bothered to go in to London, look no further than Prime. The design is contemporary yet classic, and every dish that I’ve tasted on their menu is the best of the best – and the steaks do not disappoint either! There’s not been a kids menu when I’ve been, but the chefs are happy to make most dishes in smaller portions. You are so well looked after by everyone there; the service is attentive and professional. And if you don’t fancy meal, they’ve got a glitzy bar upstairs with plenty of space to relax with a couple of drinks.
